You take his hand and shake it. He gives you a grateful smile. "Thanks, pal." He winks, making you wonder if you've just made a really annoying mistake.

You hear a clanking noise as the two Gullseyes get up from the booth behind you. They slowly walk over to your table and start staring at the man across from you. "A-ha!" One says, snapping his fingers, "I thought I recognized your voice."

The color drains from the man's face. "I think you're mistaken. I've never seen you before."

"You've never seen me," the Gullseye says, "but Scratcher's seen you." He paces back and forth, pulling out a large, cobbled-together shank. "An' Scratcher's heard from some folks who want you out of the picture."

You start to squirm in your seat, and the second Gullseye puts his hand on your shoulder. "We're not lookin' for you," he says, "we just want him. I dunno what he told you about what he's done to get in here, but I'm willing to bet he didn't mention his wife."

The Gullseye steps to the side to clear a path. "You should leave before this gets messy."
